Job summary

Hutchinson Health is seeking a Patient Access Scheduler to ensure a positive patient experience by collecting demographic and financial information to meet patient needs and organizational goals, while adhering to regulatory and compliance requirements.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service, accurate data entry, insurance verification, and proper handling of consents. Training in AIDET and occupancy workflows will be provided.

Qualifications

• Additional training either in medical secretarial or business.
• Must be able to type accurately and have a working knowledge of fax machines, copy machines and computers.
• Ability to greet public in a pleasant voice, on the phone and in person, required.
• Must enjoy reception.
• Ability to work under pressure and at a fast pace, while keeping a positive attitude, required.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers both on the phone and in person.
• Escorts patients to point of care.
• Schedules appointments per protocol.
• Takes messages from patients as appropriate.
• Registers patients including validating guarantor, demographic and insurance information; collect copay as appropriate.
• Verifies patient insurance eligibility.
• Completes and delivers all paperwork to appropriate service areas.
• Uses AIDET according to organizational training standards and expectations.
