Job summary

American Oncology Network is seeking a Patient Services Specialist to provide front-end patient support at Genesis Cancer and Blood Institute. You will handle patient intake, scheduling, medical records, and financial transactions with a focus on accuracy and customer service.

The role requires coordinating with physicians and staff across locations, maintaining EMR data integrity, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Partners include Financial Counselors to manage billing queries.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma; Associates degree preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in a healthcare setting; physician office experience preferred.
• Demonstrated customer service focus with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and caregivers professionally to create a welcoming, supportive environment.
• Accurately check in patients, verify identity per clinic standards, and document arrival status in the EMR.
• Schedule and manage patient appointments, including referrals, tests, and hospital admissions per physician orders.
• Maintain physician schedules and resolve scheduling conflicts; coordinate schedule changes.
• Create, maintain, and update patient charts in the EMR and billing systems.
• Collect and post patient payments; notify Financial Counselor when payment cannot be made.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and proper documentation of records.
