Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health’s Upstate Cardiology is hiring a Patient Services Representative to be the first point of contact for patients and the community. You will register patients, verify demographics and insurance, explain financial options, and help patients navigate scheduling and billing processes with care and accuracy.

The role requires strong communication, exceptional customer service, and the ability to work across practices as needed.

Qualifications

• Register new patients and verify demographics and insurance information.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow using the EHR.
• Explain financial options and collect payments with accuracy.
• Assist multiple locations as needed and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the primary point of contact between patients and physician practices.
• Provides strong communication and excellent customer service to greet patients and the community.
• Answers calls, routes them, schedules patients, and enters information for scheduling into the system.
• Processes patients in practice as they present for appointments.
• Troubleshoots and resolves problems to maintain patient flow and informs supervisor of issues.
• Verifies RX benefits in electronic health records and pre-certifications if applicable for procedures.
• Refers patients to financial counselors and completes accounts in revenue cycle software.
