Job summary

NORTH EAST MEDICAL SERVICES in Daly City, CA is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to ensure provider schedules are up-to-date and patient access remains optimal. You will coordinate, open/close, and maintain provider calendars while supporting front desk and call center workflows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years of experience in a health care setting and scheduling experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Epic scheduling in a medical environment.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to keep sensitive information confidential.

Responsibilities

• Maintains providers schedule i.e., on-call, vacations, meetings, etc.
• Reviews coverage and ensures adequate patient access to care by coordinating with medical directors when access is inadequate
• Open, close and release provider schedules based on time off requests and call outs
• Retrieve time off records from HR system and update provider schedules accordingly
• Coordinate with clinic front desks and call center to redirect patient appointments and reschedule as appropriate
• Support development or revision of scheduling guidelines and workflows
• Enter data accurately in the EHR patient appointment module and provide admin support to clinic operations and call center
• Ensure adherence to scheduling guidelines and report anomalies
• Follow policies to improve department efficiency
• Train new front desk and call center staff on scheduling guidelines
