Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative to manage administrative duties in our clinic. You will handle patient check‑in/out, data collection, insurance validation, scheduling, and referrals to ensure a smooth intake process.

The role requires strong customer service, knowledge of billing and medical terminology, and the ability to assist patients with funding or Charitable Care when eligible.

Qualifications

• Familiar with patient intake processes and billing basics.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and eligibility.
• Ability to collect payments and explain pricing to patients.

Responsibilities

• Assembles all data and documents for patient registration (pre-admission to registration) and completes insurance verifications.
• Enters all patient demographic information and uses other applications for eligibility and authorization.
• Assesses patient financial responsibility and collects co-pays and deductibles at admission.
• Screens admissions and informs physicians, patients and families about payment policies.
• Obtains funding information and resources for scheduling, pre-registration, registration or post-registration as assigned.
• Uses payer resources to assess eligibility and initiates third-party referrals; applies financial assistance policy.
