Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Proficiency with computers and medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical and surgical office front desk support to Surgical practice.
• Greet patients, collect co-pays, answer telephones, schedule patient appointments and testing, ensure necessary referrals are in place, verify and update patient demographics into electronic health record.
• Escort patient to exam room for provider during clinic.
• Schedule appointments, ancillary testing and surgery.
• Request prior authorizations for medical procedures/diagnostic exams and surgery.
• Refer medical questions to appropriate sources (Physician, Manager, or Director).
• Prepare end of day cash/copay reports.
• Submit billing to our billing vendor with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Respond to billing companies requests for documentation or clarification of charges.
• Participate in special projects as identified by the Physician, Manager or Director.
