UPMC Altoona Regional Health Services is seeking a full-time Patient Access Representative to join the Station Medical Center team. The role greets and registers patients, checks out and schedules future appointments to ensure smooth patient flow.

This is a float position with daylight hours, Monday through Friday, supporting Station Medical. The team emphasizes accurate data entry, patient communication, and proficient handling of insurance questions and UPAY transactions.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of accredited Medical Secretarial School preferred.
• Minimum of six months related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic computer knowledge and experience; familiarity with medical terminology.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and follow written or diagrammatic instructions.
• Effective communication with patients and physicians in one-on-one situations.

Responsabilidades

• Greet and register incoming patients; verify/enter demographic and insurance information.
• Verify appointment time, physician, and insurance; update appointment status and collect co-pays.
• Schedule future appointments and manage wait/reschedule lists.
• Troubleshoot system downtime and follow department workflows.
• Handle telephones, patient questions about insurance and policies.
• Balance daily payments and print receipts; input charges in UPAY.
• Assist patients with Welcome Kiosks and related tasks.
