The role requires verifying insurance details, collecting payments where applicable, and ensuring a positive patient experience while adhering to confidentiality and hospital policies. Evening and weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or 1–3 months related experience or equivalent.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications.
• One year of related experience, preferably in medical/financial services/customer service.
• Substitutions: None
• Preferred: Medical terminology and insurance knowledge

Responsibilities

• Conducts scheduling, registration, and admitting functions independently at bedside; validates demographics and insurance data.
• Obtains and updates data to ensure timely bill submission, including workers' comp and motor vehicle claims.
• Identifies financial responsibilities, calculates estimates, collects liabilities, and posts payments in the ADT system.
• Delivers a positive patient experience; cooperates with patients, staff, and external agencies.
• Maintains confidentiality and serves as central resource during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Remains calm and professional when faced with stressful inquiries from patients, visitors, or staff.
• Adheres to policies and completes mandatory training within guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
