Job summary

Overlake Medical Center & Clinics in the United States seeks a Referral Coordinator responsible for coordinating referrals to specialty, hospital and ancillary providers, scheduling appointments, and ensuring patient data is transmitted to recipients.

The role requires at least one year in an outpatient clinic, strong analytical and computer skills, and knowledge of EMR systems and preauthorization procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; AA or BA preferred.
• Requires minimum of one year working experience in an outpatient physician clinic.
• Experience with referral/authorization processes preferred.
• Strong analytical and computer skills required.
• Interpersonal skills to work with physicians, patients, and staff.
• Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of electronic medical records preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Knowledge of managed care preauthorization procedures preferred.
• General insurance knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinate referrals to specialty, hospital and ancillary providers as requested by OMC’s medical providers.
• Schedule appointments and ensure patient information is received by the provider.

Job Posting

Serves as the coordinator of all medical care and test referrals for site. The coordinator is charged with the timely and appropriate scheduling of all patient referrals to specialty, hospital and ancillary providers as requested by OMC’s medical providers. Responsible for coordinating appointments, ensuring the patient’s medical and demographic information is received by the specialty/outside provider, ensuring that the patient is notified of the appointment and any special testing requirements, and tracking patient compliance with the referral appointment.

1.0 Full-time / 40 hours per pay period

Mondays to Friday /8 hour Day shift - no weekends or holidays

Hybrid after 90-day training period
