Job summary

Overlake Medical Center & Clinics is seeking a referrals coordinator to manage and schedule patient referrals across specialty, hospital and ancillary providers. You will ensure complete patient data transfer, notification of appointments, and tracking of compliance for timely care.

Requires at least a year in an outpatient clinic, with strong analytical abilities and EMR knowledge. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week role shifts to hybrid after a 90-day training period, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AA or BA preferred.
• Minimum one year experience in an outpatient physician clinic.
• Experience with referral/authorization processes preferred.
• Strong analytical and computer skills required.
• Interpersonal skills to work with physicians, patients and staff.
• Knowledge of electronic medical records preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Knowledge of managed care preauthorization procedures preferred.
• General insurance knowledge preferred.

Job Posting

Serves as the coordinator of all medical care and test referrals for site. The coordinator is charged with the timely and appropriate scheduling of all patient referrals to specialty, hospital and ancillary providers as requested by OMC’s medical providers. Responsible for coordinating appointments, ensuring the patient’s medical and demographic information is received by the specialty/outside provider, ensuring that the patient is notified of the appointment and any special testing requirements, and tracking patient compliance with the referral appointment.

Full-time / 40 hours per pay period

Mondays to Friday /8 hour Day shift - no weekends or holidays

Hybrid after 90-day training period

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required. AA or BA preferred.
• Requires minimum of one year working experience in an outpatient physician clinic.
• Experience working with the referral/authorization process preferred.
• Strong analytical and computer skills required.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to work with physicians, patients, and staff.
