Job summary

AdventHealth Apopka is seeking a patient scheduling professional to facilitate the registration and scheduling process for outpatients, ensuring accurate data capture and smooth throughput of appointments.

You will work with registration and ancillary departments, coordinate with physician offices on non-covered appointments, manage precertification workflows, and help the team prioritize workload with proactive, solution-oriented communication.

Qualifications

• Computer proficiency required.
• Knowledge of small office equipment (copier/fax/calculator) required.
• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Fields of study include business, healthcare or related disciplines.
• 1+ year in a medical setting with coding, charge entry or payment collection preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates registration and scheduling for patients and outpatient appointments.
• Communicates with registration and ancillary departments to ensure accurate data capture and throughput.
• Schedules appointments for ancillary departments and notifies physician offices of non-covered appointments.
• Facilitates precertification workflows and supports timely patient care information.
