Job summary

AdventHealth in Tampa, FL is seeking a PRN Patient Access & Benefits role to support scheduling, verification, and registration processes. You will verify benefits, obtain necessary authorizations, and assist patients with financial responsibilities at point of service.

The position emphasizes strong communication, multitasking, and collaboration with clinical teams to ensure timely and accurate patient flow and documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical schooling preferred.
• Experience with computers and EPM/EMR systems.
• BLS certification preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews eligibility and benefits verification and re-verification for patient visits.
• Ensures authorizations and pre-certifications are correct to avoid denials.
• Monitors schedules, collects patient information, and supports care timeliness.
• Screens calls and routes visitors to appropriate personnel.
• Registers patients and explains financial responsibilities and programs.
• Handles payment collections and collaborates with clinical teams as needed.
