Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator in Houston to coordinate and schedule patient appointments, tests, and treatments, ensuring timely flow and accurate records. You will support a multidisciplinary care team and communicate critical information to families and clinicians.

The role requires a High School Diploma and three years of healthcare customer service experience, with a 40-hour work week across day/evening shifts, including weekends

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of customer service experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule patient appointments.
• Schedule provider appointments, diagnostic tests, procedures, and treatments.
• Prepare and maintain daily appointment templates and/or patient records in One Connect.
• Communicate all pertinent information to families, physicians, team members, and other patient care areas.
• Prepare patient materials and documentation according to established procedures.
• Collect co-payments and validate patient insurance and demographics.
• Update payment and patient information; reconcile One Connect cash drawer daily.
• Perform validation of the Medicare Secondary Payer Questionnaire (MSPQ).
• Ensure coordination of benefits and assignment of Hospital Account Record (HAR).
• Follow standard operating procedures for institution and center.
• Protect the security and confidentiality of patient information at all times.
• Other duties as assigned
