Job summary

Mercy Health Services in Baltimore seeks a Practice Communications Coordinator to be the primary contact for patients at the Centralized Communication Center. You will schedule appointments, handle calls, and manage messages and referrals to support patient care.

The role requires knowledge of insurance, strong customer service, and the ability to multi-task in a busy clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Prefer 1 year of experience in a similar Medical Office/Call Center role.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly and professionally.
• Proficiency with office software and Epic/Meditech systems.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls courteously and professionally.
• Schedule office appointments and procedures; take accurate messages.
• Process Rx refill requests via Epic to provider pools.
• Manage referrals and balance flags for high-balance patients.
• Send new patient packets, scan documents, and handle work queues.
• Provide information on physicians and directions; support patient experience.
