Job summary

Quincy Medical Group in Mt. Sterling, IL, is seeking a Patient Access Representative to greet patients, manage check-in/check-out, and coordinate appointments. You’ll enter patient data, verify insurance, collect payments when needed, and support daily clinic operations with a friendly, professional approach.

Ideal candidates have strong communication and customer service skills, comfort with computers, and a willingness to learn EMR systems. Healthcare experience is a plus, but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous customer service, reception, scheduling, or healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately enter and maintain patient information.
• Comfort using computers and learning scheduling and electronic medical record systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a friendly and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and assist with check-in and check-out.
• Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments.
• Accurately enter and update patient demographic, insurance, and registration information.
• Verify insurance information and collect required payments when applicable.
• Answer incoming calls, assist patients with questions, and route messages to the appropriate team member.
• Maintain accurate patient records and complete registration and scheduling tasks within the electronic medical record.
• Communicate with providers, clinical staff, and other departments to help coordinate patient needs.
• Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality throughout all interactions.
• Support daily clinic operations and provide a positive, helpful experience for patients and families.
