Job summary

Inova OBGYN – Shirlington seeks a Patient Access Associate 2 to join our team in a full-time, Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. You will admit and schedule patients, verify insurance, and provide financial counseling while upholding our Service Excellence standard.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: 1 year healthcare patient access or 1 year in healthcare revenue cycle, or bachelor's degree.
Preferred: 2 years of customer service experience.
Preferred: 1 year healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

Admit and schedule patients with empathy and accuracy.
Verify insurance coverage and determine payment options.
Communicate scheduling changes to patients, staff, physicians and patient representatives.
Identify payroll authorization and referral requirements for patients.
Explain insurance benefits and patient liability clearly.
Report safety hazards and protect guests until help arrives.
Maintain workflow efficiency with high accuracy and reduce errors.
Escalate problems when needed and involve others in resolution.
