Job summary

The role requires 1+ year in healthcare scheduling or patient access, familiarity with medical terminology and EHR/PM systems, and adherence to HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in healthcare scheduling, patient access or a healthcare contact center.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance types (Commercial/Medicare/Medicaid).
• Experience using EHR and PM scheduling software.

Responsibilities

• Handle high-volume inbound/outbound calls to schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments.
• Capture and verify accurate patient demographics and insurance details during scheduling.
• Perform basic real-time insurance eligibility checks and discuss copays or referrals with patients.
• Follow provider scheduling templates and guidelines to optimize clinical flow.
• Place reminder calls and manage recall waitlists to keep calendars full.
• Provide empathetic customer service and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and data integrity in scheduling processes.
• Meet daily performance metrics for call handle time, accuracy, QA scores, and attendance.
