Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Minimum six months of customer service experience required.
• Minimum six months of healthcare scheduling experience preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes preferred.
• Medical terminology course preferred.
• Keyboarding, filing, and office procedures experience required.

Responsibilities

• Gathers demographic and clinical information from patients and enters data into scheduling systems.
• Uses courteous telephone techniques to communicate with patients, physicians, and staff.
• Schedules patient procedures to optimize time and resources.
• Complies with Sheridan Memorial Hospital policies, HIPAA, and revenue cycle procedures.
• Provides pre-service counseling and assists with insurance verification and pre-certifications.
