Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking a professional Call Center Scheduler to answer a high volume of calls and schedule appointments across all clinic locations. The role demands strong customer service, accurate data capture in the Vision system, and the ability to verify insurance requirements and pre-certifications.

The ideal candidate has at least a high school diploma, 1+ years in a call center or scheduling setting, and solid knowledge of medical terminology and EHR systems.

Qualifications

• High School graduate and formal training from a vocational school or equivalent.
• 1+ years’ experience in a similar call center or centralized scheduling setting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and work under deadlines with urgency
• Knowledge of general medical terminology and managed care functions
• Working knowledge of electronic health records (EHR), Vision system, & MS Office (word, outlook, teams)

Responsibilities

• Answer, orient, and greet patients over the phone in an enthusiastic manner - 100% of work time spent is answering calls and scheduling appointments
• Determine appropriate clinic location and schedule patients into Vision system accordingly
• Obtain required demographic, insurance, and eligibility information and accurately document in Vision system to ensure proper filing of claims
• Verify if the patient’s insurance requires a pre-certification and begin the referral process
• Maintain professional working relationship with all contacts, both internal and external
• Provide timely responses to all verbal and written inquiries regarding patient accounts
• Respond to voicemails and online requests within 1 hour of the patients’ messages
• Exhibit a patient demeanor and strong customer service attitude at all times
