Emerus Holdings, Inc. seeks an Admissions Clerk to act as a liaison among patients, families, payers and hospital staff. You will verify demographics, confirm coverage, and secure out-of-pocket payments to maximize hospital reimbursement.

The role requires customer service excellence and strict EMTALA, DNV, and HIPAA compliance, with precise documentation in the revenue cycle. Prior patient registration and insurance verification in healthcare is preferred.

Formación

• 1 year of patient registration and insurance verification in a health care setting
• 2 years preferred
• Emergency Department registration experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare, Medicaid payors
• Fluency in English, written and oral communication

Responsabilidades

• Maintain EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA compliance in Admissions settings and in handling Medical Records
• Provide excellent customer service by meeting customer needs and building relationships
• Answer telephone professionally and relay messages to staff
• Provide and obtain signatures on required forms and consents
• Enter complete and accurate demographic information for revenue cycle
• Verify insurance benefits and correct payor and plan
• Obtain insurance authorizations as required by plans
• Maximize collections by pursuing payments at the time of service
• Scan registrations and medical records into the system
• Assist with coordinating transfers between hospitals
• Respond to medical record requests
• Maintain cash drawer according to policies
• Maintain logs of patients, payments, transfers and admissions
• Maintain visitor/vendor log
