Job summary

Emerus is seeking a PRN Admissions/Patient Registration Liaison to support patient intake, verification of demographics and insurance, and help maximize hospital reimbursement. The role emphasizes accurate data collection, compliance with EMTALA and HIPAA, and customer-focused service at the front desk and during form collection.

The ideal candidate has registration experience, strong English communication, and familiarity with insurance plans and medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year patient registration and insurance verification experience preferred; 2 years preferred.
• Experience with EMTALA, HIPAA and hospital regs is beneficial.
• Fluent English written and spoken communication mandatory.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA and related regs in Admissions and Medical Records.
• Provide excellent customer service and build relationships with patients and staff.
• Answer phones professionally and relay messages to medical staff.
• Obtain signatures on forms and consents as required.
• Enter complete demographic information to support revenue cycle processing.
• Verify insurance benefits and primary payor in the patient accounting system.
• Obtain required insurance authorizations when applicable.
• Assist with timely collections and cash handling per policy.
• Scan and file registrations and clinical documents.
