  • Ability to work confidently and efficiently in an emergency department setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform registration and obtain information about demographics, insurance, medical and financial.
  • Cross-train to staff all areas of patient access (front desk, admitting office, ED, and cash register).
  • Act as a resource for training of new team members and during implementation of new processes.
  • Function as a Super User and training resource for new caregivers.
  • Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic.

This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week with a 6-week rotating schedule

During Week 1, the caregiver works Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. During Week 2, the schedule is Monday and Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. This position also includes rotating weekend and holiday coverage.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:
  • Perform registration and obtain information about demographics, insurance, medical and financial
  • Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access, such as front desk, admitting office, ED, and cash register
  • Act as a resource for training of new team members and during the implementation of new processes
  • Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers.
  • Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in a customer facing role with in person or phone contact OR an Associate’s Degree and one year of experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders OR completion of course within one year
  • Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems
  • Ability to work confidently and efficiently in an emergency department setting
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment.
  • In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
  • In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $15.75

Maximum hourly: $21.65
