Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System’s Lodi Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join the Patient Registration team. You will handle registration, insurance eligibility, co-pays, and scheduling for the Emergency Department, supporting a high-quality patient experience.

The role requires evening/night shifts with weekend and holiday rotation. Training includes Epic system onboarding, followed by scheduled hours on-site with a strong team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with 2 years of customer-facing experience or an Associate/Bachelor degree.
• Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders.
• Basic PC software knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems.
• Ability to work confidently and efficiently in an emergency department setting.

• Crosstrain to staff all areas of patient access (front desk, admitting, ED, cash register).
• Serve as a Super User and assist in training new caregivers.

As a Patient Access Representative in the Emergency Department, your responsibility is to deliver an exceptional experience to patients, families and visitors, from the moment they enter to the time they return home. In this role, you will assist patients with everything from registration, insurance eligibility and collecting co-payments to self-screening and scheduling services. This position provides a strong foundation to advance in your career within various departments at the Cleveland Clinic.

A caregiver in this position works evening/night rotation from 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with weekend and holiday rotation requirements.

*Please note that if you are selected, you will need to attend a 2-week EPIC training starting on your first day. The training is Monday – Friday from 8:0 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on-site atStow Health and Wellness Center. You will need to attendall daysof this training. Once the training is complete, you will then startworkon your assigned schedule/shift.Tobe considered for this role, you will need to acknowledge that you are able to attend the full duration of thetraining.*

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Perform registration and obtain information about demographics, insurance, medical and financial

• Function as a Super User and act as a resource for training of new caregivers.

• Provide registration and cash collection access in Epic

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in a customer facing role OR an Associate’s Degree and one year of experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree

• Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders OR completion of course within one year

• Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems

• Ability to work confidently and efficiently in an emergency department setting

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
• Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
• Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment.
• In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
• In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs.
