Job description

Responsibilities:
  1. Check patients in for appointments and verify demographics accurately.
  2. Complete check-in procedures, monitor patient wait times, and communicate updates as necessary.
  3. Read and interpret insurance responses.
  4. Understand insurance guidelines and rank requirements to assign primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance correctly.
  5. Ensure patients receive necessary disclosures and privacy information, and obtain legal and financial signatures.
  6. Communicate financial obligations to patients and collect fees at the time of service as appropriate.
  7. Complete all regulatory forms with patients, explaining their purpose.
  8. Schedule follow-up appointments, including specialty or ancillary services, to complete the patient's visit.
  9. Process messages related to patient and physician requests, such as appointments, referrals, prescriptions, and complaints.
  10. Notify patients or guarantors of anticipated financial responsibilities and collect copays, deductibles, or coinsurances accordingly.
  11. Perform cash posting following department guidelines.
  12. Follow organizational and HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality and rights.
  13. Work independently on work queues to resolve accounts timely.
  14. Maintain productivity and quality performance standards.
  15. Uphold confidentiality at all times.
  16. Maintain and release medical records accurately.
  17. Assist with referrals and pre-authorizations during encounters.
  18. Use and maintain patient recall and reschedule lists properly.
Work Environment and Policies:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. Employees are responsible for meeting job obligations and complying with organizational policies and procedures. The responsibilities listed are not exhaustive but represent key elements for successful job performance.

Position Details:

Part-Time, 8-hour shifts between 7 PM - 7 AM.
