Job Summary

Job Duties
- Responsible for front line support to the department. Coordinates and performs front line office activities efficiently.
- Greets and registers incoming patients, supports the patient check-out process, and schedules future appointments.
- Checks patients in for appointments and verifies demographics accurately.
- Ensures all check-in procedures are completed and monitors patient wait times, communicating changes as necessary.
- Reads and interprets insurance responses and understands insurance guidelines to assign primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance correctly.
- Ensures patients receive necessary disclosures and privacy information, obtaining legal and financial signatures.
- Communicates financial obligations and collects fees at the time of service.
- Completes regulatory forms with patients and schedules follow-up appointments, including specialty or ancillary services.
- Processes messages related to patient and physician requests regarding appointments, referrals, prescriptions, and complaints.
- Notifies patients or guarantors of anticipated financial responsibilities and collects accordingly.
- Performs cash posting following department guidelines.
- Adheres to organizational and HIPAA guidelines, maintaining patient confidentiality and rights.
- Works independently on work queues to resolve accounts timely.
- Maintains productivity and quality performance standards.
- Maintains high confidentiality standards.
- Performs medical record maintenance and releases accurately.
- Assists with referrals and pre-certifications during encounters.
- Utilizes and maintains patient recall and reschedule lists properly.
