Job description

Responsibilities:
  1. Check patients in for appointments and verify demographics accurately.
  2. Complete all check-in procedures, monitor patient wait times, and communicate changes as necessary.
  3. Read and interpret insurance responses.
  4. Understand general guidelines and insurance rank requirements to assign primary, secondary, and tertiary insurance appropriately.
  5. Ensure patients receive necessary disclosures and privacy information, and obtain legal and financial signatures.
  6. Communicate financial obligations to patients and collect fees at the time of service as appropriate.
  7. Complete regulatory forms with patients, explaining their purpose.
  8. Schedule follow-up appointments, including specialty or ancillary services, as needed.
  9. Process messages related to patient and physician requests, such as appointments, referrals, prescriptions, and complaints.
  10. Notify patients or guarantors of anticipated financial responsibilities, including copays, deductibles, or coinsurances, and collect payments accordingly.
  11. Perform cash posting following departmental guidelines.
  12. Adhere to organizational and HIPAA guidelines, maintaining patient confidentiality and rights.
  13. Manage work queues independently to resolve accounts timely.
  14. Maintain productivity and quality performance standards.
  15. Uphold high confidentiality standards.
  16. Perform accurate medical record maintenance and releases.
  17. Assist with referrals and pre-certifications during encounters.
  18. Utilize and maintain patient recall and reschedule lists properly.
Work Environment:

Typically performed in an office setting. Responsible for fulfilling all job obligations and complying with organizational policies. The statements are not all-inclusive but highlight essential elements for successful performance.

Position Details:

Schedule: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays required.
