Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an onsite healthcare front desk coordinator in Minnesota to greet patients, collect demographics and insurance data, and direct patients to appointments. You will verify benefits, collect payments, and assist with scheduling add-ons while maintaining compliance with health insurance processes.

The role requires basic computer skills, strong customer service, and knowledge of revenue cycle components. Employment eligibility in the United States is required.

Qualifications

  • Must be 16 years of age.
  • Education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description.
  • 0 to 2 years of experience using a computer, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 0 to 2 years of customer service experience preferred.
  • 0 to 2 years of general office experience preferred.
  • 0 to 2 years of knowledge of revenue cycle and health care insurance components preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally and up to 10 lbs. frequently.
  • Employment eligibility verification required for work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Collect co-pays or deductibles and explain financial programs.
  • Refer complex questions to the appropriate department.
  • Use resources and tools to complete accounts in assigned work queues.

Job description

  • Greet and welcome patients in person
  • Collect demographic, insurance, and financial information
  • Check in or interview patients and complete appropriate paperwork
  • Direct patients to appointments or procedures
  • Assist with scheduling add-on appointments
  • Verify payer eligibility and benefits information and interpret results
  • Obtain patient signatures as needed
  • Collect co-pays or deductibles and answer questions about available financial programs
  • Refer complex questions as needed
  • Use resources, tools, and procedures to complete accounts in assigned work queues
  • Assist patients with request-for-information forms and submit them to the appropriate department
  • Gather medical record information from departments for collection
  • Mentor new staff as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
