Southcoast Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative for St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, MA.

This full-time role operates on a day shift (8:00am–4:30pm or 8:30am–5:00pm) and involves front-desk check-in/out, scheduling, and patient greeting tasks. The position reports to the Practice Manager/Administrator and requires strong computer/typing skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Equal to the completion of 4 years of high school is required.
• Good computer and typing skills are required.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are required.
• Good organizational skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment is required.
• One year of medical office practice experience or graduation from a medical secretary program or the equivalent is preferred.
• Must be vaccinated against influenza and COVID-19 or have an approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Check-in and check-out patients at assigned practice(s).
• Schedule patient visits, tests and surgical procedures.
• Greet patients and direct telephone calls.
• Perform clerical and administrative functions. May cover different offices as needed or directed.

Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Day shift, 8:00am - 4:30pm/8:30am- 5:00pm

**Available to regular status employees who are scheduled to work a minimum of 24 hours.
