Job summary

Southcoast Health is seeking a Patient Access Intake Representative for Urgent Care in Dartmouth, MA. The role supports patient access processes, collects liabilities, and ensures compliant patient information for accurate reimbursement.

Weekend and holiday rotation are required, with a day/evening schedule. The position reports to the Urgent Care Manager and requires strong communication, computer, and biomedical waste training, plus healthcare experience with third-party payers.

Qualifications

• Completion of four years of high school plus additional courses or training; Associates Degree preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills including medical-based programs.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel; familiarity with other software.
• Over three years of related health care experience including working with third-party payers preferred.
• Complete state-approved biomedical waste training.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or have an exemption with a signed statement.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Manager, Urgent Care and support patient access processes.
• Perform duties to facilitate patient access throughout the organization.
• Ensure patient information complies with SPG policy and supports accurate reimbursement.
• Determine and actively collect patient liabilities.
• Sign Biomedical waste manifest receipt when vendor picks up waste.
• Required to work weekends and holidays and stay later if necessary.

We are searching for a talented Patient Access Intake Representative - Urgent Care

Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Day/Evening shift, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 8:30pm, Saturday/Sunday 9:00am - 5:30pm with weekend and holiday rotation

Position reports to the Manager, Urgent Care. Perform a wide variety of duties to facilitate patient access throughout the organization. Ensure patient compliance with applicable SPG policy and obtains accurate patient information to insure patient safety and optimal reimbursement to the organization in accordance with various external regulations. Determine and actively collect patient liabilities. Sign Biomedical waste manifest receipt when vendor picks up waste. Required to work weekends and Holidays. Expected to stay later than scheduled if a patient checks in close to closing time.

• Equal to completion of four years of high school plus additional courses or training required; Associates Degree preferred.
• Demonstrate very good communication & interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills including medical based programs.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and other software programs preferred.
• Over three years related health care experience including working with third party payers preferred.
• Complete state approved biomedical waste training required to sign waste manifest documents.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
