Additional Preferred Requirements

  • Part Time Role ONLY
  • Will work every Saturday and Sunday from 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
  • Shift differential for working the weekends

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

The Patient Access Representative is often the first point of contact for patients and must exemplify excellent customer service, compassion, and professionalism. Responsibilities include facilitating patient entry into BJC facilities, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and ensuring accurate patient records. The role requires emotional intelligence, attention to detail, and knowledge of insurance and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  1. Use critical thinking to solve problems, anticipate patient needs, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff. Ensure positive patient experiences, maximize reimbursements, and prevent denials by accurate data collection and MPI selection.
  2. Handle hospital registration and scheduling, verify insurance, scan documents, validate orders, and provide patient education on procedures and financial responsibilities.
  3. Comply with regulatory guidelines including Medicare Secondary Payer, HIPAA, Patient Rights, and other standards. Complete HIPAA acknowledgments for patients.
  4. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring alertness and safe work practices.
