St. Peters is looking to hire a Patient Access Rep I.

Preferred Requirements
  • Part-time, 24 hours, 7AM - 3:00PM, rotating weekends and holidays
  • Daily Pay and a $500 Sign-on Bonus

Role Purpose

The Patient Access Representative is often the first point of contact for patients, requiring high standards of customer service, compassion, professionalism, and emotional intelligence. The role involves facilitating patient entry into BJC facilities, accurate collection of demographic and insurance information, benefit verification, and ensuring patient safety through correct identification in the Master Patient Index.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize critical thinking to solve problems, anticipate patient needs, and respond professionally in all interactions.
  • Perform hospital registration and scheduling within multiple BJC systems, ensuring proper patient identification, insurance verification, document retrieval, and accurate record-keeping.
  • Provide patients with preparation instructions, financial education, and collect payments.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines such as Medicare Secondary Payer, HIPAA, Patient Bill of Rights, and others.
  • Maintain alertness and work safely at all times, as this is a safety-sensitive position.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • No prior experience required
Preferred Requirements
  • Associate's Degree
  • Certification: CHAA
