Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Illinois is hiring for a part-time position in the Enterprise Revenue Cycle at the Good Shepherd IL Offsite. The role offers 20 hours per week with shifts 8:30am–5:00pm or 10:30am–7:00pm.

Responsibilities

• Creates the initial electronic health record that serves as the foundation of the patient medical record.
• Prevents creation of duplicate medical records that can cause treatment safety issues and billing problems.
• Follows and ensures compliance with accrediting bodies to use identifiers to positively identify a patient prior to care.
• Checks in and registers patients; obtains and verifies demographics, guarantor, and insurance information; discusses and collects co-pays and other out-of-pocket responsibilities.
• Maintains confidentiality per HIPAA and understands insurance basics (commercial and government plans).
