MultiCare is seeking a Patient Access Technician for its Off-Campus Emergency Departments in Washington. The role involves welcoming patients, handling admissions/registrations, and coordinating with financial and clinical teams to optimize the patient experience.

The position requires completion of a health vocational program and may consider related experience in lieu of education. Work is in a fast-paced ED setting with comprehensive benefits and a focus on compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of health vocational program such as patient access, medical assistance, medical billing and insurance or medical general.
• One year of admitting, billing, registration or customer service experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Responsabilités

• Welcome patients at Off-Campus Emergency Departments and ensure complete and accurate admissions/registrations.
• Obtain inpatient bed assignments and process admissions, including arm banding and forms.
• Pre-admit scheduled inpatients, outpatients and ambulatory patients to facilitate smooth admissions/registrations.
• Obtain direct admit information and enter a reservation in the system to notify other areas.
• Conduct demographic, insurance and third-party information interviews with patients or representatives.
• Perform eligibility verification and resolve discrepancies, determine need for financial assistance and refer to Financial Counselor as needed.
