Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of health care registration experience preferred.
• Certification as Patient Access Associate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient demographic information into the EHR and register patients.
• Obtain signatures for patient consents.
• Schedule patients in the EHR and manage rescheduling/no-shows.
• Verify insurance benefits and primary care provider for managed care plans.
• Ensure information is scanned into the patient account in the EHR (ID/insurance).
• Collect co-pays, coinsurance, and balances at time of service.
• Reconcile cash/credit collections daily.
• Self-audit cash drawer daily.
• Communicate with patients via pre-visit messaging.
• Attend department staff meetings.
• Adhere to departmental policies and infection control procedures.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
