Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a registration coordinator responsible for creating the first impression of AHN’s services, handling scheduling, registration, financial clearance, authorization and referral validation, and linking patients to financial advocacy when appropriate.

This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, empathy, and the ability to multitask in a high-acuity environment.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or equivalent experience.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications.
• One year of related experience in a medical, financial services, or customer service environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs scheduling, registration, and admitting functions at bedside; validates demographics and insurance information.
• Calculates estimates, collects liabilities, and posts payments in the ADT system; documents for follow-up as needed.
• Delivers a positive patient experience; maintains professionalism with patients, families, and staff.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and accurate EHR registrations, including during system downtime.
• Responds to inquiries from patients, visitors, hospital personnel, and external agencies under all circumstances.
• Completes mandatory training and adheres to AHN policies and HIPAA/privacy requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
