Job summary

Kaiser Permanente Hawaii seeks a flexible Patient Registration Clerk to support registration, reception and clerical duties. You will verify insurance coverage, collect payments and maintain accurate demographic and financial data in KP HealthConnect.

You will greet patients, direct them to the appropriate department, explain billing requirements and coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth admissions. Strong customer service, clear communication and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous office/clerical experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in customer service, oral communication, and written communication.
• Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to provide culturally sensitive care and/or service.
• Talking to co-workers, customers, outside vendors, and on the telephone.
• Reading, writing, speaking and understanding English.
• Training/giving and receiving instructions.
• Mathematical ability, attention to detail, concentration and alertness.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and directs them to the appropriate area.
• Alerts staff in case of emergent medical problems.
• Interviews patients and verifies insurance coverage; collects demographics.
• Verifies insurance for primary, secondary and tertiary plans.
• Registers patients in KP HealthConnect with accurate data.
