Job summary

Children's Hospital of The King’s Daughters is seeking a Patient Access Technician to support the patient care team with clerical tasks and data collection in computerized systems. You will greet patients, assist visitors, and ensure accurate data entry for registrations and insurance verification.

The role requires high school diploma, strong keyboarding, and customer service experience. Travel to multiple locations may be required to support operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six months customer service experience required
• Knowledge of third party payers, ICD-9/CPT coding and medical terminology preferred
• Interpersonal skills to exchange information clearly in written and oral form
• Proficiency in computer keyboarding required

Responsibilities

• Greets and assists patients and visitors upon arrival to the service area
• Facilitates registration, insurance verification, co-payment collection, authorization data entry, and billing inquiries
• Collaborates with departments on patient access information
• Performs pre-registration and insurance verification for CHKDHS services
• Provides coverage to assigned registration locations as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned
