Job summary

WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. is seeking a Registration Specialist at the Southpointe location to support patient registration and billing processes. You will collect demographic, insurance information, and process payments while ensuring accuracy and compliance with hospital policies.

The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a high-volume environment, and excellent written and verbal communication to assist patients and staff throughout the registration workflow.

Qualifications

• High school graduate; state background check and Federal (if applicable), as required for regulated areas.
• Accurate data entry and familiarity with registration workflows.
• Ability to collect deposits and process payments.
• Ability to schedule and manage patient registrations.

Responsibilities

• Collects demographic/billing/insurance information and enters into registration/billing systems; explains insurance/payment hospital procedures.
• Obtain pre-certifications and authorizations as needed.
• Prepare consent forms and obtain electronic signatures for treatment and financial obligations.
• Process deposits, co-pays, deductibles, and payments; provide receipts.
• Prepare patient armbands and verify patient identity.
• Balance daily receipts and cash drawer; follow up on accounts per system flags.
• Initiate screenings and gather information for coverage; complete paperwork.
• Perform medical necessity checks and Advanced Beneficiary Notice as needed.
• Schedule, reschedule, or cancel patients according to hospital workflows.
• Check order completeness and validate against scheduled service.
