Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Patient Access Associate to register patients, verify demographics and insurance, and collect payments in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will review coverage, obtain authorizations when needed, prepare consent and privacy forms, and ensure accurate entry into billing systems while maintaining patient confidentiality and excellent service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State criminal background check and Federal (if applicable).
• Ability to operate registration and billing systems with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Obtain demographic/billing/insurance information and enter into systems.
• Obtain pre-certification and authorizations as needed.
• Prepare consent forms and notices; obtain signatures and electronic consent.
• Collect deposits/co-pays/deductibles; provide receipts and document payments.
• Prepare patient armband and balance daily receipts.
