Job summary

AdventHealth Winter Garden is hiring a Patient Registration Clerk to verify insurance, determine authorizations, and collect demographic data at the point of service. You will obtain required documents and create good faith estimates to maximize upfront cash collections.

The role requires HIPAA knowledge, proficiency with Microsoft Office and Cerner, strong customer service, and clear English communication. A health services associate degree is preferred; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Register patients for services and verify insurance identification and authorization requirements
• Obtain required patient documents from in-house patients or representatives
• Create accurate good faith estimates to maximize upfront cash collections
• Maintain schedule flexibility and ensure continual coverage of assigned workstations
• Identify patients to ensure armband accuracy and input demographic information
• Secure required forms for compliance
• Support registration staff during peak times
• Screen and direct faxes and documents, assist with prescriptions when applicable
• Review physician orders and scripts to verify patient information
• Direct customers to appropriate areas and monitor lobby to meet patient and visitor needs
• Handle clerical duties and monitor insurance reimbursements classifications
• Perform other duties as assigned
