Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Patient access experience (scheduling, registration and financial clearance), insurance verification, billing or certified medical assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients arriving for their appointments and maintains efficient, courteous patient flow.
• Ensures all patient demographic and insurance information is complete and accurate.
• Completes registration on walk-in patients and updates demographics/insurance as needed.
• Verifies insurance benefits and collects patient financial liability.
• References Financial Clearance policy when needed and refers to Financial Counselor when appropriate.
• Assists with visit closure: scheduling follow-ups and providing documents.
• Maintains knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer requirements and policies.
• Communicates issues to management and meets productivity and accuracy targets.
• Maintains positive relations with patients, families and staff.
