Atrium Health Wake Forest Davie NC Arrival is seeking a Part-time Patient Services Representative (PSR) to handle patient registration duties, verify demographics and insurance information, and collect patient liabilities. The role supports financial clearance processes and referral to financial counseling as needed.

The PSR will manage patient flow, assist with scheduling, and maintain payer knowledge while delivering courteous, accurate service in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Patient access (scheduling, registration and financial clearance), insurance verification, billing or certified medical assistant experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare/HIPAA/EMTALA rules and regulations; updates on insurance pre-certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients arriving for their appointments and monitors patient flow for efficiency and courtesy.
• Ensures patient demographic and insurance information is complete and accurate.
• Completes registration on walk-in patients and updates demographics as needed.
• Verifies insurance benefits and collects patient liability.
• Follows Financial Clearance policy when needed.
• Identifies patients needing financial assistance and refers to Financial Counselor.
• Performs visit closure including scheduling follow-ups and collecting balances.
• Maintains knowledge of payer requirements and accepted insurance plans.
