Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Plano, TX is seeking a Patient Account Registrar for a temporary, days shift. You will collect and verify patient demographics and insurance information, ensure eligibility, and support the Admitting team.

Responsibilities include interviewing patients, verifying benefits and authorizations, entering data in computerized systems, communicating with patients across ages, and assisting with reception and PBX tasks.

Qualifications

• Previous hospital admissions experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and meet timelines.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Customer service experience required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients or representatives to gather demographic and insurance information.
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and required authorizations.
• Enter and retrieve patient data using computerized systems.
• Communicate with patients across all age groups using age-appropriate techniques.
• Support Admitting department operations, including reception and PBX functions.
