Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center is seeking a Patient Account Registrar in Chicago, IL. You will interview patients or representatives to obtain demographics, secure insurance information, and verify eligibility and authorizations as applicable. You will input and retrieve data, and coordinate with Admitting, PBX, and reception areas.

The schedule is Fulltime – Evenings in the Admitting department. Knowledge of medical terminology and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous hospital admissions experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize needs to meet timelines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer service experience required.
• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain demographics and insurance information.
• Input and retrieve data using hospital computer systems.
• Coordinate with Admitting department and PBX/reception areas.
• Communicate with patients across all ages; maintain medical terminology proficiency.
• Complete special projects within a specified timeframe.
