Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a patient access/registration professional to greet and register patients for medical services across clinic, hospital inpatient, ambulatory, or emergency settings. The role includes verifying demographics and insurance, handling payments, and directing patients to Financial Advocates as needed.

The position requires strong English communication, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of health care financial OR six (6) months of cash handling OR six (6) months customer service experience in high volume customer service environment.
• Two (2) years of experience keyboarding/typing and navigating multiple computer applications in a Windows environment including data input.
• Per the National Agreement, current KP Coalition employees have this experience requirement waived.

Responsibilities

• Registration: Greets and registers patients for various medical care in the clinic setting and in areas like Emergency. Verifies demographics and insurance information.
• Revenue Collection: Collects payments, processes deposits, and ensures billing accuracy per policies.
• Appointing & Messaging: Takes messages and may schedule or cancel appointments.
• Regulatory/Organizational Compliance: Explains and collects required consent forms; ensures CMS compliance.
• General Services: Stocks forms, assists patients with directions, and supports other administrative tasks.
