Geisinger is seeking an intake and eligibility assistant to verify patient demographics at check-in, advise on insurance responses, and collect any patient financial obligations at the point of service.

You will process referrals, coordinate follow-up appointments, and respond to multi-channel inquiries while upholding HIPAA guidelines and confidentiality. This role offers full-time coverage in an office setting with comprehensive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Check-in patients and verify demographics accurately.
• Explain and handle insurance responses and rank requirements for encounters.
• Explain and obtain all necessary disclosures, privacy information, and legal signatures.
• Inform patients of financial obligations and collect fees at time of service.
• Complete regulatory forms and communicate their purpose to patients.
• Schedule follow-up appointments, including referrals or ancillary services.
• Process multi-channel messages about appointments, referrals, prescriptions, and complaints.
• Post cash according to department guidelines.
• Maintain HIPAA/privacy standards and patient confidentiality.
• Manage work queues to resolve accounts promptly.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards.
