Job summary

UCI Health, Irvine, seeks a Patient Registration Clerk to be the first point of contact in ambulatory clinics. You will perform general clerical duties, enter patient data, verify insurance, and manage appointment scheduling.

The role requires strong customer service and communication skills, ability to work weekends/holidays, and experience with office equipment and registration systems.

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Must be able to work weekends/holidays.
• Demonstrated experience using office equipment such as a printer, copier, fax, scanner.
• Demonstrated experience using multi-line telephone system.
• Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval.
• Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
• Ability to effectively read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for patients in ambulatory clinics.
• Enter patient data into the registration system and verify insurance/third-party coverage.
• Schedule, confirm, and cancel patient appointments.
