Job summary

CHI Health Missouri Valley is seeking a Patient Access Representative to perform patient registration and admitting across hospital access areas, including the Emergency Department and main registration.

You will gather and verify demographic, insurance, and account information, support billing and clinical workflows, and ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record while upholding privacy and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of patient registration procedures and documentation in healthcare settings.
• Knowledge of health insurance payers and real-time insurance eligibility verifications.
• Strong customer service and accountability for patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Register patients across assigned access points with accurate demographics and insurance information.
• Scan, index, and manage patient documentation to support registration, billing, and workflows.
• Communicate financial responsibility to patients and collect payments at time of service.
• Schedule, confirm, and revise patient appointments to support timely access to care.
• Identify and resolve routine registration and insurance discrepancies; escalate complex issues as needed.
• Provide patient-facing support via phone and other approved channels.
