Qualifikationen

• Post secondary education in medical office administration or healthcare administration preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in healthcare settings including patient registration, medical office scheduling, or front desk/admissions.
• 0-2 years of experience in customer service preferred.

Aufgaben

• Interacts with patients and families to address questions and provide courteous, timely assistance.
• Regulates schedules based on procedure requirements, physician availability, and staffing needs.
• Schedules patient procedures and pre-registers scheduled patients with accurate demographic information.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and captures health insurance details; secures required authorizations.
• Collects and records patient financial responsibility estimates as applicable.
• Communicates operative reports daily to appropriate physician offices.
• Compiles and organizes registration documentation to ensure completion of patient records.
• Collects co-pays or deductibles and informs patients of financial obligations.
• Assists patients with understanding insurance requirements and resolves insurance questions.
• Maintains patient identification with armbands before discharge.
• Answers and returns phone calls professionally and courteously.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance and complies with policies.
