Boston Medical Center is seeking a Per Diem Patient Access registration liaison to greet patients, collect accurate demographic and insurance information, verify eligibility, and obtain necessary signatures. The role involves managing admissions, transfers, and discharges, coordinating with scheduling, precertification, and multiple hospital departments to ensure smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school graduate, some college preferred.
• 2-4 years in a health care setting with registration/check-in experience. Insurance knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides superior customer service to internal and external clients and patients.
• Obtains accurate patient information and enters into Meditech system with correct MRN.
• Verifies and updates all demographical information, insurance details and reason for visit.
• Obtains regulatory data (HIPAA, Medicare, EoM, etc.) and signatures.
• Checks daily revenue log and forwards to lead.
• Assigns beds and maintains census and admission logs.
• Answers phones promptly and maintains confidentiality.
• Cross-trains to multiple Patient Access areas and supports front desk responsibilities.
